Assisting in Moving Troops and Families Back from the UK
The United Kingdom agreed to bring all its troops back from Germany by 2020. The UK Ministry of Defence is responsible for relocating all units to the UK or other parts of Europe. The agency challenged Agility to move more than 1,000 families based at British Forces Germany. In addition, more than 300 families needed to be relocated from Cyprus to the same location in the UK.
Agility had to work within certain constraints, as the moves had to begin in June and be complete by September, when the summer school holidays were happening. During this peak season, the high volume of moves required coordinated and simultaneous logistics. Agility provided end-to-end project management for the UK MoD’s massive, 11-million pound relocation effort.
Agility’s physical presence in all locations, and constant engagement with stakeholders, allowed for responsive and proactive management on the ground. Agility provided project quality assurance and enabled the project’s success. DGS was credited with boosting service personnel morale as a result.
